Here’s another article for an AE Forum user: How to make a cube in AE 5.x+. If you’re new to 3D or are simply having trouble figuring out how to make all these layers parent together in order to form your cube, don’t worry. This might help.

Using the new color corrector in eyeon Software’s Digital Fusion 3.1 to suppress a color can be quite useful when your footage has undesired elements. It will selectively remove a color from the footage, leaving the rest of the spectrum. But what if the color doesn’t quite fit into one of the 6 suppression slots? No problem. In the following example I will show you how to deal with this.

Logo ripples and glows out from the center. Could be adapted for growing force field or other effect. Great way to bring on a title. Ayato’s tutorials are very advanced. Because English is his second language you really need to know After Effects moderately well to follow all the steps. Some additional plug-ins are needed, but most are available in demonstration form.

In this tutorial, Satish Kumar demonstrates the famous Matrix style Bullet-time effect in Vegas Video: A man leaps in the air with a gun, fires a shot, and then hovers in the air while the camera moves†around him 180 degrees. To create this effect, we have the shot of the man leaping in the air as a video and 6 still shots of him in the air at different angles. We will morph between the still shots using the†WinMorph plug-in for Vegas. This morphed video is composited with a moving background giving the 180 degree camera rotation effect.

I got a few e-mails asking how I created the flying swirls around the Mindsprung emblem in the Radio Waves tutorial. It is fairly simple if you know how to manipulate 3D, and in this exercise, we?ll create a 3D atom using nothing more than the out of the box After Effects Production Bundle.

It’s inevitable that many of you out there will, at some point, need to network your Mac with a Windows machine. Of course, there have been ways to do this before, either through expensive network servers or through Thursby Software’s Dave. But with the release of Mac OS X 10.2, the capability is built right into the Macintosh operating system. Here’s how you do it.
