When switching between editing platforms, you often have to translate terminology to have a smoother workflow. Here’s one case: I am sometimes asked by Media Composer editors if there is a “Select Media Relatives” function in Apple Final Cut Pro. There is one, however, it takes a few more clicks then simply selecting “Select Media Relatives” from a single menu. Final Cut people, allow me translate. “Select Media Relatives” is a function in Media Composer to find all the clips in a given sequence. Makes sense? Perhaps you have also been in a similar situation. To do this, you have to use FCP’s “Find” Function

Topic: Backgrounds
In this Boris TV episode, Kevin P McAuliffe shows you how to create an ultra-realistic image using the new Boris Continuum Materials Unit in conjunction with Adobe After Effects and MAXON CINEMA 4D.
This is an updated tutorial to reflect changes in Media Composer 5.X.
Note: The advanced keyframe editor in 5.0 defaults to a ease-in / ease-out movement when keyframing basic motion effects. Therefore, you need to change the interpolation to linear if you want to create a moving filmstrip effect.
That being said, in Media Composer 5.5, the default has been reset back to linear, so you won’t have to perform that step.
