What's the BuZZ?

Mark Kennedy - Co-founder and President: Celtx, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada

Mark Kennedy has a science, education, legal and business background. His unabating interest in all things technology, especially the Internet, led to his co-founding a software development company with his friend, and programmer extraordinaire, Chad House.

Counter intuitively forged in the nadir of the dot com crash, Mark and Chad decided early on to focus their efforts on developing software to assist filmmakers. This mandate subsequently expanded to include all media creation, something that Celtx, especially after the latest release, hopefully accomplishes.

A long time and still active gamer, media junky, and voracious consumer of gadgets,  Mark leads a small team of developers and film makers in making Celtx the first, Internet friendly, end to end solution for the pre-production of media.

Dana Haynes - Accularian (Check the site for the meaning)

Dana Haynes is a certified Apple consultant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the creator  of Accularian.com's Really Basic Training Macintosh video series. With nearly 20 years  experience supporting and training South Florida Macintosh computer users, he saw the  opportunity in the Digital Video Revolution to expand his training business. Production  began on the Really Basic Training video tutorials in 2006 and went online earlier this  year at www.accularian.com. Accularian has basic tutorials for Macintosh, Internet, Email and Word Processing.

Graduating in 1978 from Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio with a degree in communications, Dana spent many years of his early career working in the Cable  Television industry and participated in the startup of the futuristic Qube (pronounced  cube) project in Columbus which was the world’s first two-way, interactive cable television system. He also spent several years with Showtime Networks as an area marketing manager, moved to south Florida in 1985 and began his consulting business shortly thereafter.

Dana comments:

"About the same time the idea of creating Accularian.com was coming together, Podcasting was just getting big and because of podcasts like "The Digital Production Buzz" the daunting task of trying to figure out all the endless details and lingo of DV became a pleasure rather than another daunting task. This story is as much a tribute to the power and value of Podcasting as it is to creating great video. "
