What's the BuZZ?
Steve Weiss - Director, Marketing and International Sales, Zacuto
The Gold Standard, FilmFellas webisode 12, was released recently by Zacuto and tackles issues facing the traditional Hollywood film structure and how it may be starting to lose its hold on standard distribution. Does the rapid growth and immediacy of online films catapult them to become the new standard? The Fellas argue that the experience of going to a movie theater is still the "Gold Standard" for the entire industry; however with the swift distribution of web video the standard could be changing. Steve Weiss, producer of the series, joins us to further this disucssion.

Metadata BuZZ - Philip Hodgetts, President, Big Brains for Rent
This year, talking about metadata (that is, information about your media, such as image size, camera settings, or other stuff that you specify) has gone from sleep-inducing to electrifying. Adobe redefined the importance of metadata for the mass market with their CS4 release. Tapeless cameras generate metadata by the metric ton. Yet, in this discussion, Final Cut Studio has lagged behind. Recently, Philip Hodgetts discovered that there is a ton of metadata hidden in Final Cut files and he joins us today to discuss what this is, how to view it, and why we should care. (Yes, I know, this sounds boring, but wait till you hear Philip explain it!)
Jason Bourque - Film Director
PitchPage was started in February 2006 by Roz McNulty, a new media site where film industry professionals can pitch their skills, projects and pitches using streaming video. PitchPage is a way for film and new media talent to post a video resume; Film directors to submit their film festival pitch; Producers and Directors to create interest in their projects as they progress. Jason Bourque is one of the directors who placed his demo reel on the site. This week we talk with him about demo reels, promoting his work, and the importance of new media. You can see his demo reel here.
