Gita Saedi Kiely was the series producer on the acclaimed PBS series, “The New Americans,” and has since produced “Reel Paradise,” about independent film guru John Pierson and his adventure on a remote Fiji island. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Montana School of Journalism where she teaches documentary film history and production. The series was produced in association with Kartemquin Films. This week, we discover how she did it.
