Ross Shain is the Chief Marketing Officer of Imagineer Systems, creators of next generation VFX tools and the innovators behind the industry unique planar tracking visual effects technology. With hundreds of hands-on post-production projects under his belt, Shain is an accomplished motion graphics designer, art director, effects compositor, editor, colorist and post/visual effects supervisor as well as as Chief Marketing Officer for Imagineer Systems. Graphics Processor Units (GPU's) are revolutionizing high-end video and effects with their power and speed. Recently, NVIDIA announced the expansion of their line of GPU-accelerated plug-in solutions for Adobe CS4 users, optimized to run on a wide range of mid-range to ultra-high-end NVIDIA Quadro graphics solutions for PC and Mac. For instance, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 users are now able to experience a performance increase of up to 11X when compared to CPU-only video encoders. We asked Tyler Worden, Market Development Manager of Emerging Markets for nVidia to help us understand what it all means.
