Jason Seifer is a Ruby developer and advocate for Ruby on Rails. Today, he explains why video producers need to know how this new technology can enhance their websites. Better ways to archive, the inside scoop from Cannes, and deadline-driven production techniques - all on today's show! As the video world becomes increasingly tapeless, archiving our media becomes even more crucial. Ingo Fuchs is the product marketing manager for Quantum and joins us to discuss specific archiving techniques and gear we can use to save our digital media files. Stacey Parks is a one-woman distribution whirlwind. She returns from Cannes with all the gossip on what was selling, what wasn't, and lots of tips on how to make money in distribution. Daily television news reporting is similar to walking a high-wire with no net; there is very little room for mistakes. Keith Tomshe has been doing this balancing act for a long time. As an investigative reporter for KHOU-TV, Houston, he joins us to discuss his production techniques.

Patrick Nugent is the product manager for Roxio Toast, a well-respected software program that creates DVDs. What really gets us excited, however, is that the latest version of Toast also burns Blu-ray DVDs. Patrick explains how. Glen Swanson is an Emmy-Award winning director for ABC, CBS, and NBC. After an almost 40-year career in the booth, he joins us tonight to talk about the changes he's seen in video production. This will be GREAT!

Real-world video compression, Blu-ray DVD licensing, getting better organized and the challenges of shooting your first film Nothing confuses more people faster than trying to figure out video compression. Yet, whether you want to go to DVD, the web, or venture into Blu-ray HD, using compression successfully is essential. This week, Andy Beach joins us to discuss what he learned about compression in his new book: "Real-world Video Compression." Thinking about Blu-ray, it's time to check back with Bruce Nazarian, president of the DVD Association, to get the latest news. The last time Bruce was on, he spoke about the high costs of licensing pricing Blu-ray out of the reach of smaller companies. Time to see if that's changed. Scott Simmons was on a few weeks ago talking about the poor training of Final Cut editors - and causing a near-riot in the process. This week he's back with something less incendiary - tips on getting better organized for editing. John Brawley is an Australian cinematographer who is premiering his first film at the Sydney, Australia, Film Festival. But, its been a long road for John as he has worked on this film. Owen Smith making comedy, the Digital Hollywood BuZZ, and award-winning cinematographer Ueli Steiger-all on today's show! Owen Smith is best known as one of the stars of "Everybody Hates Chris." But when he's not in front of the camera, he's behind it - producing his own comedy special for a network any network. He drops in to discuss what he's learned on the road to getting this finished and released. Stacey Parks spends all her time looking for money to give to deserving producers. Listen to her latest report on the status of distribution. Philip Hodgetts is attending, and speaking at, Digital Hollywood. This gathering of industry movers-and-shakers is the perfect place to pick up the latest BuZZ. Philip phones us from the trenches with his report. Cinematographer Ueli Steiger has more than 30 feature films to his credit, including 10,000 BC, Bowfinger, Soapdish, and The Spy Who Shagged Me. However, shooting 10,000 BC presented some unique problems in dealing with on-set color correction, which he stops by to explain.
