Avid Ships New Media Composer Family of Products

Avid released new versions of their Media Composer family of editing software today.
Customers can upgrade from prior versions of Media Composer and Symphony in one of three ways:
- Customers with a valid Avid Assurance Support contract. The v3.0 software is free of charge and can be obtained by logging into the Avid Electronic Download Center. Please note that customers without Assurance contracts by have a recent Avid Download Center account, will be able to see the editors and downlaod but will not be able to utilize the versioner to update the dongle.
- Customers who purchased a new copy, or purchased an upgrade to Avid Media Composer v2.8 or Avid Symphony v1.8 after March 17th 2008. The v3.0 software is free of charge and can be obtained by going to http://www.avid.com/protect. Customers will be asked to enter the location and the date of purchase, as well as the System ID as proof of purchase.
- Customers who do not fall into one of the above two categories. Customers can either purchase an Avid Assurance contract or can purchase the v3.0 upgrade from Avid's online webstore (Avid Media Composer Software upgrades only) or from the Avid reseller channel.
