Great New Interviews! Join Larry Jordan and Michael Horton as they talk with:

Cirina Catania, Filmmaker and Producer, Digital Production Buzz

Cirina Catania, Producer, Digital Production Buzz, joins us from Berlin, Germany, where the Berlinale Film Festival starts today. This is her second time at this massive event and we look forward to her report on what’s new, what’s hot, and what’s getting attention.

Debra Kaufman, Associate Editor, Creative Cow

Debra Kaufman is one of our industry’s most respected technology journalists. She recently moved into a new position as Associate Editor at Creative Cow and continues to build a very impressive body of work for other publications such as Daily Variety. We’re delighted to be able to share some time with her on the BuZZ.

Ross Kanarek, Sales Manager, Switronix, Inc.

Ross Kanarek, Sales Manager for Switronix, Inc., specializes in merging their company’s products into applications as diverse as microwave transmitions or the toy industry! Switronix’s recently developed Recon Wireless Transmission System works well with uncompressed HD video. Ross joins us to explain more about this wireless video technology.

Adrian Belic and Roko Belic, Filmmakers

Filmmakers Adrian Belic and his brother, Roko Belic, are a welcome and familiar sight in the independent film world. We’ve invited them on the BuZZ to get their reactions to this year’s Sundance Film Fest and give us an update on their latest feature documentary, “Happy.”

Jessica Sitomer, President, The Greenlight Coach

Jessica Sitomer is CEO at The Greenlight Coach and a frequent contributor to The BuZZ. She often works with international clients and we are curious about the cultural challenges involved when pitching ourselves for gigs in foreign territory.

Chris Potter, Co-Founder, Screenlight

Chris Potter is a co-founder of ScreenLight, a growing provider of a private video sharing and collaboration application for production companies, advertising agencies, and editors. ScreenLight makes it easy to securely review videos with clients, capture feedback, and get videos approved. As we become more and more involved in long-distance production management, these kinds of services can be very valuable. This week, we find out more about how ScreenLight works.

Join Larry Jordan and Mike Horton , as they talk with:

Lydia Cornell. Award-winning Actress

Lydia Cornell won the People’s Choice Award for her role as Sarah Rush on ABC’s “Too Close for Comfort” in 1980 and has worked non-stop ever since. Her professional career extends beyond acting into theater, film, and television. She is also just about finished with her new novel. We first met on our Oct. 27 show and were so impressed we invited her back to talk about what it takes to succeed in Hollywood, tips for producers/directors on how to work with actors and, above all, the importance of being true to your creativity.

Philip Hodgetts, President, Intelligent Assistance

Philip Hodgetts, President, Intelligent Assistance, joins us to talk about thriving and growing in today’s business climate. Today, customers think cheaper equipment should lead to cheaper production. There’s a “kid in a basement” underbidding at every turn and many traditional sources of production revenue are simply drying up. The advent of an economic downturn has accelerated the changes in our industry, while the Internet has radically changed communication and brought us powerful new tools for communicating with new and current customers. It’s tough to make a living, but Philip has some ideas that can help.

Michael Cioni, CEO, Light Iron Digital

Michael Cioni, CEO, Light Iron Digital, has been a Digital Intermediate Supervisor on more than 200 feature films – such as Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The Amazing Spiderman, The Social Network, Total Recall, and… the Muppet Movie! We want to learn more about how the process of digital intermediates works and whether this is a technique that can benefit the independent filmmaker.

Adrian Belic, Independent Filmmaker — Michael Timm, Independent Filmmaker

Two successful filmmakers, looking to make money on their projects. The first film of Adrian Belic and his brother, Roko, created just after college, was the Academy Award-nominated “Genghis Blues.” His follow up film is the multi-award winning “Beyond the Call.” How does he market his product and what advice can he give to the rest of us about survival in the intensely competitive world of independent films. Filmmaker Mike Timm has some good news for us! His film, “A Girl, A Guy, A Space Helmet” premiered recently at the Maryville Film Festival and was the recipient of Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Production Design and Best Cast Ensemble awards! So we guess he’s doing something right! We talk with both Adrian and Mike about how they are marketing their films and where the money is for filmmakers today.

Darren Millar, General Manager, Video Symphony

Darren Millar, General Manager, Video Symphony, recently joined one of the largest training schools for filmmakers to help create programs geared for filmmakers today. He joins us to discuss the role of Video Symphony in helping filmmakers jump-start their career.
