Today, Video Production Radio provides highlights from DV Expo 2008 in Los Angeles. This gathering presents the latest in video hardware, software, and services for video production and post-production. This month’s show provides highlights from this event.
Jan Crittenden-Livingston, product line business manager for Panasonic, discusses Panasonic’s switch to video recording without using video tape, the future of camera technology, and how to permanently store tapeless media.
Brian Roland, Director of Global Video Services for ToDoCast, discusses live, pay-per-view event streaming. Which is cool. But ToDoCast provides an extremely inexpensive way to create your own events using satellites! This has amazing possibilities for the smaller producer.

Today, Dave discusses what the ProHD video format is, how to pick a camera that meets your needs, and highlights the direction JVC is taking their camera technology.
Eric Yang is the director of sales and marketing for Topaz Labs. Topaz Labs makes an almost-magical plug-in for After Effects and Final Cut Pro that takes standard-def video and converts it to high-def while improving the resolution and quality of the image. The demos are amazing – today Eric explains how it works.
