Adobe Illustrator: Creating a type effect as seen on MK12¥s ultraloveninja

Chapter: Visual and Creative Effects

Topic: Visual Style

Hi, if you like motion graphics you will probably know MK12. If you don`t, check out their website at www.mk12.com. Now on their ultraloveninja-movie they used a nice type effect where letters grow out of nowhere. We are going to recreate that effect using After Effects and Illustrator. I am not sure if the method i describe is the one they used but it works, the disadvantage of this method is that it creates long rendering times. The advantage is that it will also automatically make your letters disappear unless you stop them from doing so.

Adobe After Effects: Logo with a Flash

Chapter: Titling

Topic: Glows, Blurs, Rays or Streaks

Title or logo appears from a light flash with lines and grid pattern. Requires Knoll LightFactory or similar. Ayato’s tutorials are very advanced. Because English is his second language you really need to know After Effects moderately well to follow all the steps. Some additional plug-ins are needed, but most are available in demonstration form.
