TASCAM audio interfaces compatible with Final Cut Pro 5 Studio

All TASCAM audio interfaces are now compatible with Final Cut Pro 5 after a major upgrade of the control software. With Final Cut Pro 5 and Soundtrack Pro, TASCAM’s FW-1884 audio and MIDI Input/Output interface or the FW-1082 control surface can be used with Final Cut Pro Studio.

The FW-1082 control surface can be used as external control surfaces via the Mackie Control Protocol. The FW-1082 is an audio Input/Output interface with four mic inputs, four line ins and S/PDIF digital in and out – all available at 96kHz. It features 10 inputs, including four balanced XLR mic inputs with phantom power. Eight channel strips each feature a 60mm touch-sensitive moving fader and select/solo/mute buttons, and a moving master fader.

If you need more I/O then the FW-1884 provides 18 channels of input (8 analog and 8 ADAT digital), eight balanced XLR mic/line inputs with mic preamps. The FW-1884 is also a control surface with nine 100mm motorized touch-sensitive faders.

The FW-1082 has a list price of US$999 but can be found for just over $720; the FW-1884 lists for US$1599 but can be purchased for US$1000 if you show carefully. (Sponsored link off google search.)
