M-Audio StudioPro 3

The new M-Audio StudioPro 3 desktop audio monitors are built from MDF, rather than plastic and include fiberglass insulation for improved bass response. Bass response is also enhanced by a custom bass-reflex port that the company claims works with the woofer and cabinet together to produce a natural bass response. There is a Bass Boost control for further adjustment of the low end sound. The speakers have built-in active EQ and crossover networks built around 3.25" low frequency drivers and a 1" high frequency dome.

Important for a video room, both drivers are magnetically shielded to protect against interference coming from the speakers (protecting CRT display) or coming into the speakers.

The speakers are AC powered with universal power supply (100-240v, 50-60Hz) with main RCA speakers on the rear, but with a stereo Aux input on the front panel for "digital media devices" (aka iPod). Also on the front panel is a stereo headphone socket that mutes the sound from the monitors.

At US$99.95 the StudioPro 3 speakers come with a stand.
