The HDR-HC3 Handycam is the smallest 1080i HDV camcorder available.
The HDR-HC3 model features a professional-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario- Sonnar® T* lens and Sony’s new ClearVid CMOS Sensor technology. This imager is engineered to boost picture resolution and clarity to deliver vivid colors and precise image detail. Combined with Sony’s Enhanced Imaging Processor, it provides new and fun-to-use functions.
The camcorder also shoots four-megapixel still images stored to on an optional Memory Stick PRO Duo media card. With the dual record function you can shoot video and simultaneously capture 2.3 Mpixel stills (1080i resolution) in 16:9 format or 1.7 Mpixel still in 4:3 format. The camera contains an inbuilt flash for digital stills.
The 2.7" LCD screen is also a touch panel for camera control and the supplied InfoLithium batters can record up to 90 minutes of continuous shooting.
The HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder will be available in April for about US$1700 from Sony Style retailers or SonyStyle.com. The camcorder is not yet on the SonyStyle.com site.
