P2 Flow Application Released

Made in collaboration between and Spherico this handy application “provides editing of the original P2 metadata including MXF video/audio preview and unique workflow features for Final Cut Pro. It’s the only external application that is able to send MXF online clips to Final Cut Pro as well as offline clips that can be ingested with Log and Transfer.”

That means that you can edit the metadata, then send use the application to send the clips with the new metadata to FCP for NATIVE access to the MXF files…OR…you can send the clips as “offline clips” that you can then use BATCH CAPTURE to import them into FCP as QT files. The first option is cool for the small one-man-band studios that have only one machine, but the QT import option is fantastic for the operation that has multiple machines but can only afford one copy of the application.

DSW includes the full DSA 1.8 authoring system, the DoStudio Encoder 1.0, a QuickTime exporter, and Title Factory 4.0 for subtitling duties. Panasonic Introduces AJ-HPM200 P2 HD Mobile Recorder/Player

The HPM200 offers all of the popular features found in its predecessor, the AJ-HPM110, and adds new functionality including: enhanced cuts editing with separate source and record windows, full-frame rate playback from external disk drives, AVCHD compatibility (with the AJ-YCX250G option card), up-conversion of live video inputs in real time, FTP and Giga-bit Ethernet interfaces for expanded network connectivity and 24p Time Code input for production applications, including use as a source for a traditional dailies process.

With DVCPRO HD and AVC-Intra standard as well as optional AVCHD compatibility and expanded input/output connections, the HPM200 P2 Mobile is the most comprehensive and versatile master-quality HD field recorder and can be used with virtually any camera. The field recorder offers 10-bit independent frame 4:2:2 quality recording in a variety of high definition formats and frame rates, including 1080p (native), 1080i and 720p, and also records in standard definition DVCPRO50/25 and DV.

CoreMelt releases Lock and Load plug-in for Final Cut Pro

Lock and load is capable of intelligently ignoring foreground motion, even on busy scenes or with dark backgrounds. No need to choose tracking points, as the plug-in intelligently analyzes the entire clip for you. With intelligent adaptive zoom, Lock & Load will automatically compensate for differing levels of movement and zoom in to remove edges.

It removes or smooths rotation and zoom changes as well as X and Y movement. Lock & Load analyses only the portion of the clip you select, so there’s no need to export and re-import long clips. It works with all kinds of footage, no “too much movement” errors.
