Switronix Inc new FLEX DSLR Remote is a patent-pending, handle mounted DSLR remote unit that triggers HD video start and stop recording for Canon 5D/7D. The FLEX’s unique gooseneck arm houses an optic to be positioned within line of sight to the remote sensor on the Canon cameras (transmits up to 1m away, 135deg spread). Once positioned, the remote transmits a signal through the optic when the button is depressed.
The arm can be extended up to 12″ and coils down to approximately 3″ in diameter. The FLEX’s all metal construction will standup to the everyday rigors of HD DSLR video production. Max clamp diameter 1.5″. Powered by 2 included AAA batteries.

This tool in Smoke is great if you are working on multiple timelines using the same material. The way this tool works is by using the source tape name and timecode of the source footage. When softFX are copied between timelines, smoke matches the metadata. So where ever it matches, Smoke will copy the softFX with frame accuracy. This even includes animation!!!

Avid has released a new version of the Avid Interplay 2.1 production asset management system as well as a new Interplay feed scheduling and recording system option, Avid Interplay Capture 1.0.
The products support enhanced media access and control via Interplay support for Mac-based Avid editing systems and streamlined asset ingest and metadata management capabilities.
Interplay lets users manage content creation projects by centralizing media assets and extending access to remote users. Interplay 2.1 includes support for Avid Media Composer and Avid Symphony editing systems on the Mac platform. Interplay 2.1 also offers Web Services 2.0, further extending third-party interoperability with Interplay.
Interplay Capture, a new feed ingest automation system option for Interplay, schedules and controls the recording of incoming media quickly and accurately.
