It’s the start of a New Year and we have a FREE TICKET to the Adobe Bootcamp – plus some great interviews! Join Larry Jordan and Michael Horton as they talk with:

Rob Legato, VFX Supervisor, “Hugo”

Oscar winner Rob Legato, whose numerous credits include Apollo 13, Titanic, Castaway, The Aviator, and The Departed, most recently was the visual effects supervisor, second-unit director, and second-unit director of photography for Hugo. For this project, Legato broke new ground, including Hugo’s application of genuine 3D, the use of the ARRI Alexa camera, re-creation of sets and techniques used in 1905, research of filmmaking history, as well as the film’s 800 highly stylized visual effects shots—each fine-tuned for discrete right and left eyes. In all his various capacities on the project, Legato relied on Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium software, including Adobe After Effects 5.5, Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, and Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5. We want to talk with him about what he did, how he did it, and what he thinks of the results.

Rich D’Angelo, President/Founder, Channel Wolves

Rich D’Angelo is the President and Founder of Channel Wolves, a sales and marketing strategy and representation firm that works with some of the leading names in the digital media industry, including EditShare, Boris FX, Contour Design, Bluefish444, and PowerProduction Software. He joins the BuZZ this week to tell us about the hundreds of new transitions from Eye Scream Factory.

Jack Reilly, Event Manager, Future Media Concepts

Jack Reilly is the Event Manager for Future Media Concepts. FMC is producing the Adobe Boot Camp, an extensive training camp on all the major Adobe products starting Jan. 9 in Orlando, Florida. This immersive, in-depth training is different from other training centers and we want to learn more about it. Also, you can enter to win a FREE TICKET to the boot camp by listening to the show and visiting The Buzz Facebook page. This could save you HUNDREDS of dollars!! (Oh, and we wouldn’t object if you “liked” us as well…)

Jan Nordmann, Director, Marketing & Business Development, Fraunhofer IIS

Fraunhofer IIS is a major research institute in Germany that invented MP3 and co-developed AAC. They are not simply resting on their laurels, however. This year at CES, they will be demonstrating new dialog enhancement technology and a new consumer version of the Sonnox Fraunhofer Codec specifically geared to music production. We invited Jan Nordmann, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Fraunhofer, to explain their new announcements.

Alex Grossman, CEO, Active Storage

Active Storage has been providing high-quality, high-performance storage hardware for media production for almost a decade. This week, CEO Alex Grossman gives us a sneak peak at a new announcement on media management that they are making later this week at the Storage Visions 2012 conference in Las Vegas.
