Digital Anarchy has announced Beauty Box Photo 3.0, a significant update of their award-winning Digital Makeup skin retouching plug-in for Photoshop and Aperture. Version 3.0 gives an amazing speed increase by using OpenCL, a new technology that runs on ATI and Nvidia graphics cards. The plugin also introduces new smoothing and masking algorithms that improves automatic masking, and adds shine removal for hot spots on skin areas. There are now over 30 preset Styles that photographers can choose from to make things even easier when getting the perfect look.
Since 2009, Beauty Box Photo has been a critical tool for dealing with skin and makeup problems that high resolution photography reveal. Beauty Box Photo 3.0 solves this problem by giving subjects an incredible makeover in post-production, using state-of-the-art face detection and smoothing algorithms that preserve important details and the natural skin texture. All this combines to create realistic Digital Makeup. The retouching is subtle and the resulting image looks natural. In many cases, it’s all the retouching a photo needs, but for more complex retouching jobs, it provides a great foundation, freeing up the Photoshop artists to work on areas that can’t be done automatically.
Beauty Box Photo is also designed for high volume photography environments. Photographers dealing with 8,000 photos a week can’t retouch them by hand, yet many of them benefit from some beautification. Beauty Box Photo’s ability to automatically retouch images via batch processing solves this problem. The blazing fast speed, due to using OpenCL and graphics cards, allows you to retouch hundreds of images an hour.
