Philip Hodgetts, CEO, Intelligent Assistance, is another of our Buzz regular correspondents and an expert on all things technical. However, he has a real love for metadata. With the release of Adobe CS5.5, and the sneak preview of Final Cut Pro X, metadata has suddenly become a key aspect of virtually every NLE. We want to talk with him about why metadata is so important. Then, we want his thoughts on how Adobe is implementing metadata in its CS5.5 products and his speculation on what Apple is doing with Final Cut Pro X. As we move entirely to tapeless workflows, understanding metadata becomes critical to asset management. Like it or not, metadata is part of our new editing life.
